Job Description:
Title: Lead Software Engineer (Boston, MA) Description: Lead a team of 2-3 software engineers/senior software engineers
in the development of computer applications for insurance consumers.
Design, develop, deploy and maintain software applications (Insurance
Policy, Claims, and Billing) using Java/JEE technologies. Design and
develop database scripts required for the application. Prepare builds
for applications to move into QA and MODEL and PROD environments.
Test support when the application is in QA and MODEL environments.
Responsible for supporting existing applications using Spring framework, XML,
MyBatis, SOAP/REST, JBOSS, Drools Rules and SQL Servers. Understanding of
Insurance policy rating and underwriting. Participate in source code
reviews. Work with business analysts and business team to understand project
requirements and translate to design. Education and Experience: Master’s degree (or foreign educational equivalent) in Computer
Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Math, or a related field and
two (2) years experience developing web-based applications using
Java/J2EE; or in the alternative, a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign educational
equivalent) and five (5) years experience developing web-based applications
using Java/J2EE. Special Requirements: Also requires demonstrated expertise: (1) developing
automobile/home insurance policies and billing online transaction processing
applications using REST and SOAP Web Services built on the Spring Framework
using Drools Rules engine; (2) developing Java/J2EE XML based applications,
building using Maven build tool and deploying over JBOSS application
server/Mule ESB and deploying in Linux operating systems; (3) developing
database middleware using Hibernate and MyBatis ORM/Persistence Framework
on DB2 and SQL Server databases and messaging middleware using MQ
series/ActiveMQ; and (4) in gathering, managing business requirements and leading a
