Job Description:
Duties: Support the day-to-day operation of the organization’s
Server infrastructure. Contribute to infrastructure-based projects,
including new server builds, upgrades, patches, troubleshooting, and new
product evaluation for a Microsoft Active Directory environment. Respond
to emergencies within defined service levels. Perform project work
which impacts production systems outside normal business hours.
Support the daily operation of the VMware vSphere virtual environment,
the international Microsoft Active Directory Server network
(including Exchange Servers), and Cisco switches and routers. Monitor and respond to
metrics, including uptime, bandwidth, and other performance related
measurements. Identify opportunities to tune or improve network performance by
upgrading, modifying, or adding new technology. Perform ongoing network
optimization utilizing SAN, NAS, Virtualization and other emerging
technologies. Serve as a tier 2/3 resource for helpdesk/support escalations.
Evaluate server/resource requests and recommend required hardware and
software solutions. Maintain effective back-up/restore procedures and
systems to meet the business and regulatory requirements for data
restoration and archiving. Evaluate and monitor resource use and make capacity
and resource upgrade recommendations. Apply patches, anti-virus, and
other countermeasures to maintain effective security and compliance
requirements. Requirements: No degree and seven (7) years of experience
providing network architecture within a high security environment or related
field. OR, in the alternative, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science,
Mechanical Engineering, System Analysis, or a related field (willing to
accept foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience
as stated above. Experience must include: Demonstrated Expertise (DE)
designing, building, enhancing, and maintaining critical software
applications to support Stolen Vehicle Recovery Tower Networks utilizing SAN/NAS
technology within a high availability DOS work environment; DE utilizing
EMC Avamar, and EMC SourceOne, Citrix Application Delivery Controllers, and
Checkpoint and Cisco Firewall technologies; DE working in high
availability environments, requiring overnight/weekend support, where minimal
downtime is essential to the operation; and, DE maintaining accurate
documentation, policies, and procedures, in compliance with all Sarbanes-Oxley
(SOX), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA), and
Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations and other audit and
