Job Description:
Working under the direction of Engineer Manager 1, will
research, investigate, and write software for numerical optimization
algorithms in Optimization Toolbox and Global Optimization Toolbox including
but not limited to linear programming, quadratic programming, nonlinear
constrained programming, and derivative free methods. This includes
proposing design, architecture, and implementation of high performance and robust
objected oriented software. In addition, will write good quality and
detailed software specifications. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in
Engineering and six (6) years experience in job offered or six (6) years experience
researching and writing software for numerical or mathematical
optimization. OR Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Engineering
and two (2) years experience in job offered or two (2) years experience
researching and writing software for numerical or mathematical
optimization. OR Ph.D. degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Engineering
and no experience. Special Requirements: * Demonstrated expertise researching and developing
derivative-free optimization software including testing and architecture design
using Java, C++ and MATLAB. * Demonstrated expertise writing algorithm specification,
developing and supporting linear programming and quadratic programming for
operations research using interior point, simplex, or active-set
algorithms. * Demonstrated expertise performing technical computing to
embed mathematical functions in MATLAB and C++ and applying
optimization software to engineering applications. [Experience and/or expertise may be gained during Doctoral
