Principal Software Engineer

Job Description:
Leads architecture, design, development and coordination of software
development projects and work teams. Provides technical and project
management support to project team members. Manages the software
development life cycle and process improvement in accordance with
disciplined software development practices. Plans and executes software
development projects. Responsible for technical and project management
tasks. Provides consultation on complex technical projects, including
business analysis and technical decisions. Works directly with internal
and external PTC customers to provide technical solutions.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent foreign education) in Mechanical
Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics
or a related field plus 5 years of experience on the job offered or 5 years
of application development experience for Oracle and SQL Server.
OR, in the alternative:
Master’s degree (or equivalent foreign education) in Mechanical
Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics
or a related field and 3 years of experience on the job offered or 3 years
of application development experience for Oracle and SQL Server.
Experience and skills may have been gained during a degree program.
Special Requirements:
1) Demonstrated expertise developing enterprise applications using Java,
J2EE, JSP, Servlets, Struts, JDBC, JUnit, UML, XSL(T), XQuery, XSD, C++,
and low-level UNIX APIs;
2) Demonstrated expertise with database development using Oracle and SQL
Server;
3) Demonstrated expertise developing software applications in HP-UX and
Solaris environment.
4) Demonstrated expertise performance tuning of mission-critical production
databases;
5) Demonstrated expertise with computational geometry, optimization theory,
and statistics.
