Job Description:
Working under the direction of the Manager or Senior Team Lead,
will be responsible for designing, developing and testing
sophisticated software; developing, building and deploying cloud
infrastructure including solving complicated infrastructure and
architecture problems in a complex technical environment and
improving MathWorks infrastructure services with a strong focus on
eliminating waste via automation; leading technical projects and
identifying software automation opportunities, particularly as they
pertain to infrastructure configuration management; serving as a
change agent to drive continuous improvement and DevOps; exploring
and implementing opportunities that eliminate manual wasteful
operations; leveraging industry leading technology and tools to
make existing systems and processes more efficient; collaborating
with peers and identifying key stakeholders to help drive progress;
ensuring high availability of enterprise systems; balancing daily
operations with the need to drive long-term investment efforts;
working in an agile iterative environment, writing Python, Perl and
Bash scripts to support Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure
and Google Cloud Platforms; deploying and supporting CentOS, Red
Hat and Debian distributions; performing software configuration
management using Ansible, Puppet and Chef; and using Git and
Perforce for source control. Education and Experience: Masters degree in Engineering, Computer Science,
Telecommunications, or a closely related field (or foreign
education equivalent) and two (2) years of experience in job
offered or two (2) years of experience designing, deploying,
maintaining, and supporting cloud solutions. OR Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Computer Science,
Telecommunications, or a closely related field (or foreign
education equivalent) and no experience. Special Requirements: Demonstrated expertise designing, deploying, maintaining, and
supporting cloud solutions through public cloud -- AWS, Azure, or
Google Cloud -- and private cloud. Demonstrated expertise building and packaging distributed web
services and microservices using Docker container technology;
deploying services on Amazon Web Services cloud based platform; and
orchestrating services using Kubernetes or AWS ECS. Demonstrated expertise performing version control using Git or
Perforce; configuring and maintaining infrastructure following
Infrastructure-as-Code methodology; automating continuous
integration and continuous delivery on a continuous integration
platform -- Python, Puppet, GitLab or BitBucket; performing cloud
infrastructure automation through DevOps scripting using Perl or
Python and configuration management using Puppet or Ansible. Demonstrated expertise performing logical network design
following virtual and physical network topology; and building and
analyzing network design in public cloud. [Experience and/or expertise may be gained during Doctoral
