Job Description:
Working under the direction of the Manager or Senior Team Lead,
will be responsible for designing, developing and testing
sophisticated software; developing software to drive MathWorks
on-premises and cloud services and help support account and email
infrastructure services for the Online Product teams; guiding all
aspects of MathWorks hosting services, from architecture to
operations; setting direction and strategy for team as well as
software and product development processes; engaging with customers
to understand their needs and gathering feedback on products and
services; facilitating cross-disciplinary discussions with deeply
technical people to arrive at solutions that meet the business
needs; driving automation and self-service into the environment as
a means of reducing waste and increasing quality; and ensuring
operational stability throughout the global software development
environment. Education and Experience: Masters degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely
related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years
of experience in job offered or three (3) years of experience in
design and development of cloud-based systems. OR Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely
related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of
experience in job offered or one (1) year of experience in design
and development of cloud-based systems. Special Requirements: Demonstrated expertise building distributed web services using
Amazon Web Services cloud based platform; performing
containerization using Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes;
and applying cloud computing concepts to develop scalable and
parallel systems. Demonstrated expertise performing object-oriented design and
analysis using Java and Golang; architecting code using design
patterns; developing RESTful web services within a distributed
computing system environment using Golang, Node.js and Java; and
writing scripts to extract and store data within a SQL and NoSQL
environment, including writing SQL queries in PostgreSQL for
database integration of web services. Demonstrated expertise in full stack web development, including
metric gathering and reporting and including planning, documenting,
architectural design and development, deployment, and testing
