Job Description:

Responsible for working with large real-life datasets and contextual classification using machine learning algorithms. Will apply data mining and text classification algorithms to predict the potential reaction of on-line audience to various advertising brands in real time by calculating the optimum bidding value per ad. Machine learning algorithms are used to bid on real-time ad exchanges and are responsible for making millions of decisions per second.

Will apply research expertise to work on innovative algorithms in the advertising domain. Will also work on information retrieval algorithms to understand the nature of websites where the ads are shown and apply similarity measure algorithms such as cosine measure, probabilistic measure and pivoted cosine measure to find the websites that best represent the advertising brand.

Along with research responsibilities, will work on hands-on development of the Dataxu Brain (a market trends analysis system). This system deals with Tera-bytes of data everyday to learn market trends for hundreds of online advertisers and utilizes the classification models to optimize their advertisement placements on display, mobile and video domains.

Will apply statistical approaches and prepare the data for analytical and reporting purposes. Will work directly with campaign managers to provide them guidance for campaign setup and with our in-house Advanced Analytics Group to provide statistical analysis about the data.

Educational Requirements:

PhD degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research or Applied Mathematics or a closely related field and 0 years experience.

Special Requirements:

(1) Demonstrated experience optimizing algorithms and data structures and conducting problem-solving analyses in connection with text processing.

(2) Demonstrated experience performing computer and statistical modeling using R, Matlab, and Weka analysis tools in a UNIX environment (Linux).

(3) Demonstrated experience creating statistical and machine learning algorithms such as Nave Bayes, SVM, Decision Trees, Regression, Clustering, and Collaborative Filtering.

Experience may be gained during a doctoral degree program
