Job Description:
Working under the direction of the Director or Senior Manager,
will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the
development of data analytics and data reporting tools for
MathWorks sophisticated software products; managing a team of 4-8
highly technical Development Application Engineers; guiding and
coaching around the development of organizational data marts, data
lakes, and analytic reports; providing day-to-day mentorship and
coaching for Development Application Engineers on how to work
effectively and efficiently with their project teams; coaching
direct reports, including setting goals and objectives, writing
reviews and holding regular one-on-one meetings; providing hands-on
help to direct reports when appropriate including identifying and
piloting new metrics; designing and developing data analytics tools
and reports; providing direction to improve the infrastructure of a
highly automated facility that supports building, testing, and
releasing all MathWorks products; profiling and understanding large
volumes of source data, including structured and unstructured data;
providing analytic support, including data extraction, synthesizing
and aggregating data, and developing reports; creating and
maintaining a data lake to help facilitate and manage machine
learning algorithms to benefit developers; leveraging existing
metrics and developing new ones to identify waste in processes;
creating and maintaining a system that helps ad-hoc metrics
providers move to a more robust and sharable interface; developing
guidelines and processes to ensure data integrity and quality
standards are met on new and existing data; establishing
service-level agreements and best practices with business partners
for reports and ad-hoc analysis; identifying and documenting
detailed requirements; participating in proposals, design reviews,
and code reviews; and designing and communicating resourceful test
standards. Education and Experience: Masters degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information
Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education
equivalent) and four (4) years of experience in job offered or four
(4) years of experience in development, testing, or technical
support of automated test infrastructure. OR Ph.D degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information
Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education
equivalent) and two (2) years of experience in job offered or two
(2) years of experience in development, testing, or technical
support of automated test infrastructure. Special Requirements: Demonstrated expertise building data science, statistical, and
machine learning models, including time series analysis models,
supervised and unsupervised learning models, deep learning models,
and outlier and anomaly detection models. Demonstrated expertise performing data profiling and designing
and implementing logical and physical data models, including design
models and entity-relationship (ER) models, using Hadoop Big Data
technologies, and using traditional SQL databases. Demonstrated expertise performing data visualizations -- reports
and dashboards -- using JavaScript, Power BI and Tableau. Demonstrated expertise managing engineers on projects related to
