Job Description:

Performs analysis, design, installation, integration, upgrades, and

enhancements related to the University's information systems. Configures

and deploys new administrative systems and integrates them with the

University's Banner system. Maintains and expands the University's

reporting platforms and assists the Database Administrator with SQL tuning

and upgrades. Maintains system connectivity between Banner and relates

systems. Evaluates user needs and recommends systems or process

enhancements or modifications. Provides technical support to users of

University systems and reporting tools and coordinates systems interfaces

with other members of the Information Technology (IT) and user communities.

Develops and maintains complete documentation and designs and maintains

systems operation and production runs.

Education & Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science,

Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or related field

(willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus 4 years of experience

performing computer programming and systems analysis for complex management

information systems applications to optimize system reliability and

performance. Or, alternatively, a Master's degree and 2 years of

experience performing computer programming and systems analysis for complex

management information systems applications to optimize system reliability

and performance.

Specific skills/other requirements – must also possess 2 years of

experience in each of the following skills: (1) Performing capacity

planning and performance tuning for Oracle or SQL Server databases and

tools; (2) Using SQL or PL/SQL to query update and reorganize data, create,

and modify database system scheme, develop reports and interfaces, design

user interface configurations, and convert data; (3) Performing database

administration, design, development, implementation, migration, and

upgrades; and, (4) Running SQL queries in a database management toolset to

manage relational and non-relational databases using one of the following:

Toad, ER/Studio, SQL Developer, Sequel Pro, or QueryPlus.
