Description:

Software Engineer III (Transportation) for Wayfair LLC in Boston, MA to assist in building web-based ecommerce applications from scratch, working with several large and complex SQL databases, and using Microsoft SQL server and incorporating TMS. Will utilize PHP with MVC to contribute to development of software algorithms to streamline back end business workflow, optimize and improve efficiency. Will mentor and conduct code reviews for junior engineers.

Education:

Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) as well as 2 years of experience writing and tuning database queries in a high-performance multi-server SQL Server environment or, alternatively, a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience as noted above.

Special Skills Required:

Demonstrated expertise in Scrum software development methodology.

Demonstrated expertise in implementing functionality according to a Service-Oriented-Architecture (SOA).

Demonstrated ability to interview end users and gather business and functional requirements and translate requirements into a working implementation.

Demonstrated ability to identify and address issues related to code quality, software scalability, or general maintenance problems.
