Description: Working under the direction of Quality Engineering Manager 1,
the Build and Release Engineer - Perl/Shell will be responsible for
maintaining software quality methods and procedures to ensure
continuance improvement to the integrity of source code in the
repository, helping to resolve build and test issues, coordinating
branch strategies, and the overall management of the automated
build and test system; releasing the MATLAB and Simulink product
family on schedule; managing the automated build and test system;
investigating, debugging, and resolving automated build and test
issues; working with Engineering and Quality Engineering to refine
and improve the development process; developing tools to improve
the efficiency of the integration and release process; building and
delivering the general releases, web products, service packs, and
beta products; and assisting Development with change management,
including adding new platforms, compiler updates, or operating
systems changes. Education and Experience: Master’s degree (or foreign educational equivalent) in
Engineering or Computer Science and one (1) year of experience in
job offered or one (1) year of experience in build and release
engineering. OR Bachelor’s degree (or foreign educational equivalent) in
Engineering or Computer Science and five (5) years of experience in
job offered or five (5) years of experience in build and release
engineering. Special Requirements: · Demonstrated expertise in customizing and supporting release
engineering and build automation tools -- Anthill Pro, Build Forge,
and Cruise Control -- using C++ and Java. · Demonstrated expertise writing Perl, Shell Scripts for
automating release, and ANT and gmake scripts for build
automation. · Demonstrated expertise migrating code repositories from
version control systems, CVS and PVCS to rational Clear Case or
Perforce environment. · Demonstrated expertise writing Perl, Shell and C++ Scripts to
administer, configure and support version control tools -- Rational
Clear Case, Rational Clear Quest, and Visual Source Safe. [Expertise may be gained during Graduate program.] For the position listed above, interested candidates may search
