Job Description:

Working under the direction of Engineering Senior Team Lead 4, will be

responsible for designing, developing, and testing software applications,

and helping to develop software tools to facilitate the analysis and design

of control systems for practical industrial applications; focusing on

building software for data-based controller design, online identification,

tuning of PID controllers, and process control; developing and implementing

new software tools to help MathWorks’ customers design controllers for their

applications using Control System Toolbox and Simulink Control Design;

working on improving the integration of existing controller design and

system identification tools for Simulink; contributing to all aspects of the

product development process from writing functional specifications to

designing software architectures to implementing software features; and

working with quality engineering, documentation, and usability teams to

develop state-of-the-art software tools.

Education and Experience:

Master’s degree (or foreign educational equivalent) in Electrical

Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics

and one (1) year of experience in job offered or one (1) year of experience

performing control system design research or in development of control

system and design automation technologies.

OR

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign educational equivalent) in Electrical

Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics

and five (5) years of experience in job offered or five (5) years of

experience performing control system design research or in development of

control system and design automation technologies.

Special Requirements:

• Demonstrated expertise writing algorithms in MATLAB to perform fault

detection in dynamical systems.

• Demonstrated expertise writing algorithms in MATLAB and Simulink to

design and simulate control systems.

• Demonstrated expertise in robust controller design and analysis, and

using the Robust Control Toolbox.
