Job Description:

Working under the direction of Application Engineering Senior Team Leader 3,

will be responsible for supporting the technical aspects of the Sales and

Marketing process with respect to computational finance applications;

traveling regularly to meet with customers to understand their workflows and

challenges; preparing and delivering product presentations and live

demonstrations to customers on-site and over WebEx to demonstrate the value

of MathWorks tools in addressing their challenges; developing demonstration

programs and application examples that highlight the use of MathWorks

products in solving interesting problems in computational finance;

presenting seminars on topics in financial modeling with MATLAB to technical

audiences across North America, and occasionally internationally; performing

role of internal stakeholder/champion for the MATLAB computational finance

products; assisting sales in developing technical sales strategies to

increase the adoption of MathWorks tools in financial services accounts;

identifying product-related selling challenges and opportunities; working

with Development to provide feedback and advocate for customers; and working

with Marketing to uncover areas for opportunity based on industry trends and

assisting in creating new marketing messaging and content. Requires

frequent travel and on short notice.

Education and Experience:

Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Engineering, Computer

Science, Mathematics or Finance and four (4) years of experience in job

offered or four (4) years of experience in development or training of

functionality of asset management, trading, and risk management quantitative

modeling tools.

Special Requirements:

• Demonstrated expertise designing and implementing risk management

and asset management trading tools and strategies using MATLAB, Statistical

Toolbox, Optimization Toolbox, and Financial Instruments Toolbox to leverage

data pulled using the Datafeed & Database Toolbox from Bloomberg and

Reuters.

• Demonstrated expertise developing and delivering training workshops

on quantitative modeling in MATLAB for asset management, trading, and risk

management.

• Demonstrated expertise writing algorithms for portfolio and

multivariate optimization – gradient based and random search as well as

expertise in statistical signal processing including time series analysis—

GARCH and econometric modeling, parameter estimation and filter design --

and multivariate statistical techniques -- principal component analysis,

factor analysis, neural networks and classification algorithms.

Position reports to Natick, Massachusetts headquarters. Any qualified US

worker will be permitted to work out of a home office within close proximity

to any major US airport in the Northeast region of the United States.
