Job Description:

Working under the direction of Development Services Senior Team Lead 4, will

be responsible for maintaining and improving the performance of MATLAB;

creating performance tools and investigating performance issues; engaging

with teams working on performance-critical projects, to learn about cutting-

edge technologies, helping keep MATLAB at the forefront of technical

computing; contributing to identifying performance bottlenecks in the MATLAB

code execution engine, and monitoring for performance regressions;

performing profiling of application-level benchmarks and unit-level use

cases; maintaining MATLAB code execution engine performance reporting

infrastructure on Windows, expansion to the Mac and Linux platforms;

developing and maintaining unit performance tests, application-level tests,

and custom performance harnesses; investigating performance regressions;

developing new performance infrastructure to support major initiatives and

complex products such as MATLAB Graphics, PCT, MATLAB code execution engine;

and contributing to UPS development, maintenance, and support.

Education and Experience:

Master’s degree or higher (or foreign educational equivalent) in Computer

Science or Engineering and no experience.

OR

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign educational equivalent) in Computer Science or

Engineering and five (5) years of experience in job offered or five (5)

years of experience in performance engineering of compiler technology.

Special Requirements:

• Demonstrated expertise programming in MATLAB and conducting

performance analysis of MATLAB code execution.

• Demonstrated expertise in time and memory performance analysis using

Intel VTune, Windows Performance Analyzer, Instruments on Mac, Valgrind,

Intel Pin tool (Dynamic analysis) and Intel CPU Counters

• Demonstrated expertise code debugging using Visual Studio Debugger

for Windows and Eclipse for Linux.

• Demonstrated expertise programming in C++, according to C++ coding

patterns, and Perl and Python.
