Job Description:

Working under the direction of the Application Engineering Senior Team

Leader 3, will be responsible for assisting sales personnel in managing the

technical aspects of the sales process directed primarily at customers doing

data analysis and exploration, numeric and symbolic computing, plotting and

advanced visualization, signal and image processing, or algorithm

development; demonstrating knowledge during sales meetings, conference

calls, through the delivery of public seminars, and in the development of

complex product demonstrations; working with existing “power users” to

answer their questions and assist them in the most efficient and proper use

of products once deployed; providing technical pre-sales support and

guidance to the EDU Sales Organization; assisting the salesperson in

understanding and synthesizing customer requirements, then explaining the

features and capabilities of products relative to the customer's specific

needs; preparing and delivering product presentations to customers and

prospects during customer meetings and marketing seminars, these “product–

centric” sessions include, but are not limited to live demonstrations of

MATLAB, a wide assortment of associated Toolboxes, and many other related

products; developing demonstration programs, application examples, and

simulations; analyzing users’ problems to recommend and demonstrate the best

computational approach; assisting customers with the use of MATLAB programs

directed at solving specific problems; working closely with Sales and

Marketing personnel as a technical consultant; assisting sales personnel in

qualifying the value and understanding the validity of an opportunity, when

working with marketing personnel; assisting by providing guidance aimed at

the development of accurate market messages and associated presentations as

well as other forms of collateral and communications; and providing details

of project quality, and accounting for time and effort (including the

submission of event or engagement reports as well as other forms of activity

reports).

Education and Experience:

Master’s degree or higher (or foreign education equivalent) in Mechanical

Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Aeronautics and Astronautics and no

experience.

OR

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Mechanical

Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Aeronautics and Astronautics and five

(5) years of experience in job offered or five (5) years of experience in

customer facing technical support and training, including performing

debugging, computational analysis, modeling and simulation using MATLAB- and

Simulink-based toolsets.

Special Requirements:

• Demonstrated expertise developing optimization and graph theory

based algorithms in MATLAB.

• Demonstrated expertise developing MATLAB scripts to interface with

third party simulation modeling tools.

• Demonstrated expertise developing and delivering technical

demonstrations and providing live technical support for MATLAB-based and

Simulink-based modeling and simulation tools.
