Working under the direction of the Technical Writer - Senior Team Lead

3, will be responsible for writing online help content for MATLAB and

Symbolic Math Toolbox users; developing content that shows creative ways

to solve technical computing problems in a wide range of applications;

writing user-focused content that explains key concepts and solutions to

end users; developing examples and tutorials to show how to use software

to solve a variety of technical computing problems; collaborating with

cross-functional team members to develop products; helping develop next

generation online resources; participating in the software development

process, review software requirements and functional designs, providing

comments and suggesting improvements; and identifying missing topics and

filling gaps in existing information.

Education and Experience:

Master’s degree or higher (or foreign education equivalent) in

Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Technical or

Professional Writing and no experience.

OR

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Engineering,

Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Technical or Professional

Writing and five (5) years of experience in job offered or five (5)

years of experience in technical writing for computer or engineering

system functionality.

Special Requirements:

• Demonstrated expertise modeling and simulating physical systems

using numerical computing; and writing physics simulations in MATLAB.

• Demonstrated expertise analyzing technical systems and

converting technical specifications into written documentation using

markup language -- XML or LaTeX.

• Demonstrated expertise developing user manuals, end-to-end

workflows or end-to-end descriptions of computer and engineering

technologies; and presenting technical concepts and systems

functionality to end-users, customers or licensing partners.
