Job Description:

Working under the direction of the Engineer - Senior Team Lead 5, will

be responsible for developing robust, efficient, highly optimized

numerical algorithms to solve problems in MathWorks’ core technical

computing domains; implementing numerical algorithms in the core

MathWorks’ products utilizing floating-point arithmetic, computer

organization, and numerical algorithms to produce high performing

software by improving existing implementations and providing brand new

functionality; coordinating with other Development teams, Quality

Engineering, Documentation, Usability, Program Management and customers

in the end-to-end process of software development; and working

independently and with the team to gather requirements for state-of-the-

art numerical algorithms to be included in MathWorks’ products, most

particularly MATLAB.

Education and Experience:

Master’s degree or higher (or foreign education equivalent) in

Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Science and Engineering,

Information Systems, or Mathematics and no experience.

OR

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Engineering,

Computer Science, Computer Science and Engineering, Information Systems,

or Mathematics and five (5) years of experience in job offered or five

(5) years of experience in development or testing of numerical accuracy

for core mathematical computing functionality.

Special Requirements:

• Demonstrated expertise implementing high performance linear

algebra routines with LAPACK interfaces.

• Demonstrated expertise implementing, maintaining and enhancing

numerical differential equations for mathematical computing software.

• Demonstrated expertise analyzing and enhancing numerical

algorithms for consistency, stability, numerical accuracy and order of

convergence.

• Demonstrated expertise in algorithmic programming using MATLAB,

C++ and Fortran.
