Job Description:
Working under the direction of the Professional Marketing
Manager, will be responsible for providing technology support to Student Competition teams using MATLAB and Simulink;
engaging with team mentors and academic faculty advisor to provide technical guidance; collaborating
with MathWorks Public Relations and marketing teams to identify new out-reach opportunities; working with MathWorks
stakeholders to build relationships with competition organizers; performing training at competition events;
participating as a judge for the competitions; developing
criteria for MathWorks Awards; designing and developing new training
materials for student teams; developing models necessary to demonstrate proper usage of MATLAB and Simulink;
developing ramp-up and other materials needed by teams; leveraging mentors and faculty advisors to create
relevant demos and training materials for teams; working with MathWorks stakeholders to disseminate and promote the
training materials to teams; acting as a Student Competition Advocate within MathWorks; collecting data and
performing analysis on the training needs of teams, and evaluating the success of training efforts; and interfacing with
development staff to build internal awareness of competition needs. Education and Experience: Master’s degree or higher (or foreign education equivalent) in
Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer and Information Science and no experience. OR Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in
Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer and Information Science and five (5) years of experience in job offered or five
(5) years of experience in development or technical support of MATLAB toolboxes. Special Requirements: • Demonstrated expertise programming in C/C++, MATLAB and
Simulink. • Demonstrated expertise designing control algorithms for robot
manipulators and humanoid and mobile robots; and developing and deploying algorithms in C/C++ and MATLAB for
robotics builds. • Demonstrated expertise developing demos, training materials,
and hardware support packages for MATLAB based simulation technology. • Demonstrated expertise delivering technical engineering
