Job Description:
Improves portfolio optimization methods and risk models using
quantitative portfolio tools -- Barra, Axioma, and FactSet. Informs
investment decisions by conducting research and analyzing financial
data sets. Forecasts business, industry, and economic conditions,
using industry knowledge and research data. Produces strong
risk-adjusted performance in a wide range of multi-asset class
investment solutions for managed account clients. Collaborates with
portfolio managers and develops analytic studies to support and
test ideas related to investment and portfolio construction.
Collaborates across multiple account types and tax registrations --
taxable, and tax deferred and -free -- into the unified investment
framework. Primary Responsibilities: Produces strong risk-adjusted performance for a wide range of
multi-asset class investment solutions for managed account
clients. Contributes to the investment teams success with thorough
insists and investment recommendations that are based on
quantitative analysis. Assists in domestic and international equity research. Supports multi-account portfolio constriction processes. Back-tests investment strategies and conducts after-tax and risk
analyses to ensure successful transitions. Aides in the implementation of equity portfolios. Provides insights and investment recommendations based on
quantitative analyses. Establishes optimal investment approaches by conducting
after-tax and risk analyses. Ensures successful transitions from the Research and Development
team to the investment management teams. Collaborates with portfolio managers and develops analytic
studies using new strategies. Supports and tests strategies relating to investment and
portfolio construction. Prepares plans of action for investment using financial
analyses. Education and Experience: Masters degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Accounting,
Economics, Finance, Mathematical Finance, Statistics, or
Mathematics and no experience. Skills and Knowledge: Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (DE) performing systematic tax-smart
multi-account portfolio construction and optimization for retail
and workplace (401(K)) managed accounts with embedded and
standalone SMA optimizations, using Java, R, SQL, and Axioma;
performing multi-dimensional simulations according to modern
portfolio theory and multi-factor risk models, using R, SQL, and
FactSet; developing quantitative methods to implement asset
location, using R and Axioma; and visualizing analysis results to
inform business decisions in a managed account domain, using
Spotfire and R Shiny. DE performing predictive modeling, using OLS regression,
Xgboost, and Random Forest models, R, and SQL on cross sectional
dataset for tax predictions; and applying Convolutional Neural
Network (CNN) to model investment client data to capture cross
sectional and time series characteristics, using R and SQL. DE administering prototype code base using Git; performing
large-scale testing and analytics generation, using UNIX and Amazon
Web Services (AWS) based parallel computing techniques; analyzing
and translating production-level Java code to R; and extracting,
verifying, and summarizing results provided in AWS, Kafka, and
Snowflake based software and translating them into changes of
optimization parameters and systematic constraints in managed
account business. DE acting as member of an investment R&D team -- supporting
enterprise technology teams in the development and implementation
of new managed account capabilities according to complex investment
methodologies and multi-portfolio optimization requirements;
diagnosing and troubleshooting optimization workspaces in Axioma;
and interfacing with technology vendors to report product defects,
improve optimization heuristics, and propose new optimization
