Job Description:
Duties: Work closely with the portfolio management team and play
a key role in ensuring that GAA portfolios are positioned in accordance
with the Portfolio Managers’ investment strategies and views, and
that organizational and infrastructure capabilities are in place to
support the portfolio management process. Primary Responsibilities: • Monitor portfolio performance, positioning, risk metrics, etc.
to ensure alignment with Portfolio Manager (PM) investment thesis
and process; recognize, evaluate, and reconcile any results that are
inconsistent with manager or strategy objectives. • Work with PMs to develop trading/execution strategies to
implement PM views and investment strategies (e.g., fund transitions,
alignment of active positioning across funds, etc.). • Develop models to propose trades and cash flow allocation
changes for Portfolio Managers based on ongoing review and analysis of
portfolio monitoring tools and reports; prepare, execute and reconcile
trading activities. • Work with PMs, quantitative analysts and other investment
staff on investment analysis projects that support the development and
refinement of investment and/or trading strategies (e.g., ongoing asset
class-related research, backtesting and optimizations for new fund
concepts/fund repositioning, etc.). • Work with PMs and Institutional PMs on analysis and
presentations for consultants, e.g., to support portfolio construction and
positioning. • Establish and maintain strong relationships with
underlying portfolio managers, traders and key investment services
personnel across investment divisions as well as product management staff in
the distribution groups; help to represent GAA interests in planning
large trades or transitions, implementation of fund changes, new fund
launches, etc.; and coordinate communications to underlying PMs,
investment services contacts and back-office groups. • Ensure that the trading platform, tools, and execution
algorithms are consistent with industry and Fidelity best practices. • Assist Director of Target Date Strategies and appropriate
product teams on target date product enhancements. • Work closely with the investment staff, investment operations
and the technology group on infrastructure and other systems
enhancements to support the portfolio management process. • Support broader Business Line /Investment Operations
priorities as appropriate. Requirements: Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent)
in Finance, Economics, or Quantitative Finance and two (2) years of
experience in the job offered or two (2) years of experience in performing
investment portfolio performance and manager analysis within a multi-asset
class environment - US equity, international equity, fixed income,
and alternatives asset classes; or, alternatively, a Bachelor’s
degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Finance, Economics, or
Quantitative Finance and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or
five (5) years of experience in performing investment portfolio
performance and manager analysis within a multi-asset class environment - US
equity, international equity, fixed income, and alternatives asset
classes. Also requires: Demonstrated expertise (DE) in performing investment
portfolio attribution using Bloomberg and Morningstar; DE creating and
implementing product development strategies specific to Target Date Funds;
and crafting Target Date presentations to communicate investment strategy
and performance attribution to internal and external investment
consultants; DE analyzing and interpreting funds’ investment process, philosophy
and performance to identify and rank investment disciplines and
portfolio managers across US Equity, International Equity, Fixed Income
and Alternative asset classes; DE analyzing asset flows in the
