Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities • Apply advanced troubleshooting skills to triage unfamiliar incidents where no previously documented fix exists • Develop, test and deploy database bug fixes and
enhancements • Work closely with other shared services teams including DBA,
Market Data Services, UNIX, database engineering and production
services to maintain the database environment and resolve issues • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation • Understand the impact of database changes and/or installations
to production systems • Monitoring nightly and daily batch jobs • Perform development tasks including creating Oracle stored procedures, Autosys Job Information Language scripts, ETL, UNIX
shell scripts and new utilities as needed in support of projects • Escalate issues appropriately to make business aware as and
when established SLAs can not be met. • Will work closely with an offshore operations team in
India Education and Experience: B.S. (or foreign educational equivalent) in Computer Science,
Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics and 3 years experience in job offered or
3 years experience in Oracle database design, development and data
modeling within an investment management environment Skills and Knowledge: (1) Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") performing data modeling
using PowerDesigner or Erwin, problem and impact analysis, writing
database triggers, and development and enhancement of complex stored
procedures and packages using PL/SQL. (2) DE in database performance tuning, Unix shell scripting,
defining ETL data loaders, and performing analysis and administration of
database security (VPD.) (3) DE design and developing vendor feed data loaders (Factset,
Bloomberg, Morningstar, Lipper) using text/XML file formats, and processing
