Job Description:
Position: Research Analyst (Boston, MA) Duties: Perform database analysis and system updates for
internal proprietary tools as well as external software. Facilitate
quality control metrics for data streams, deliverables and processes. Assist
executive management with quantitative data and analytical support efforts
involving mutual funds, ETFs, separate accounts, variable annuity
subaccounts, and alternative investments. Aid the executive team in making
investment decisions by conducting portfolio analysis of recommended models
and researching investment opportunities. Communicate with Financial
Advisors on a variety of issues to assist them in managing their client’s
investment portfolios. Work on strategic and tactical projects that will
contribute to the overall support and success of the Research Team.
Responsible for a variety of production deliverables including risk/return
calculations, performance measurement, quantitative analysis and attribution
of recommendations. Conduct competitive analysis of LPL products
and recommendations versus direct competition and other market
offerings. Requirements: Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or
related quantitative field (or foreign education equivalent) and 2
years’ experience performing quantitative analysis for portfolio
management; OR, in the alternative, a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting,
or related quantitative field (or foreign education equivalent) and 5
years’ experience as indicated above. Also requires: FINRA Series 7 and 66 licensure; and demonstrated
expertise (DE): conducting portfolio analysis of recommended investment
models of mutual funds, ETFs, separate accounts, variable annuity
subaccounts, and alternative investments; DE performing portfolio construction
and investment management to meet multiple client investment
objectives; DE performing competitive analysis of financial research offerings
relative to direct competitors and the universe; DE utilizing third party
tools including FactSet, Morningstar Direct, Zephyr Style Analysis,
Bloomberg, Haver Analytics, MPI Stylus, PSN, and Lipper to perform research
and analytical analysis; DE supporting trade processes by updating
data and ensuring data integrity and consistency within internal tools
and analytical programs; and automating multiple research analytics
processes and procedures to reduce errors and business risks; and DE
interfacing between Research, Technology Services, Operations, Advisory,
and Consulting groups, including supporting application usage and
providing assistance with advisor and client requests regarding
performance, quantitative analysis and modeling, customized charts and
