Job Description:
Duties: Provide analysis leadership on complex systems and
analysis projects aimed at supporting Fidelity’s investment
professionals. Assess design recommendations made by other analysts, and
recommend design changes to complex interrelated systems design to
achieve complicated requirements, improve performance and/or reduce
costs of ownership. Partner with product management, technical teams,
external stakeholders and vendors to provide innovative solutions and
improve efficiency. Primary Responsibilities: • Lead and conduct interviews with investment professionals
to gather requirements, and understand technology needs as well as
system and workflow challenges. • Develop recommendations that address difficult and complex business needs and opportunities. • Establish full project life cycle plans for complex
systems analysis projects, and define project scope. • Lead other analysts in the execution of documents on large
and complex projects and monitor the quality and progress of
documents created by other analysts. • Design new systems based on requirements. • Document and maintain progress of stories, iterations and releases for Agile projects through use of Agile project
tools. • Define and develop vendor solutions for investment
professionals that analyze historical trends on performance, coverage and
risk exposure. • Lead and participate in the definition of test strategies,
and coordinate user acceptance testing efforts. • Communicate progress of multiple projects to management,
engage stakeholders on a regular basis, and manage expectations of
internal and external stakeholders. • Serve as industry subject matter expert, and identify
other subject matter experts who are the sources of requirements for
large and complex projects. • Work with other teams to evolve standards and best practices
for systems analysis processes. • Participate in incident/crisis management to assess
business impact, determine/facilitate any workarounds, in concert with
the production support organization. • Advise on risk assessment and risk management strategies. • Coach and mentor junior product analysts and developers on systems analysis techniques and business workflows. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology,
Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics or a closely related field and
five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of
experience in systems analysis and business analysis within an asset
management environment; or, alternatively, a Master’s degree (or foreign
education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information
Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics or a closely related
field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3)
years of experience in systems analysis and business analysis within an
asset management environment. Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) in systems and business analysis of
investment management applications -- to support trading, portfolio
management, portfolio construction, research and compliance -- within an
asset management environment; DE with all phases of systems analysis
and solutions development -- definition of visions and strategies,
creation and enhancement of project roadmaps, project prioritization,
and requirements analysis through implementation -- within an
onshore- offshore development team in an asset management environment;
DE gathering requirements and applying business analysis
methodologies -- use case diagrams, data flow diagrams, mock ups, prototypes, and
process flow diagrams -- using Visio, Balsamiq, and MS Excel; DE
developing proof of concepts and usable prototypes to support
enterprise application development using JAVA, .NET, javascript and
