Actuarial Analyst

Job Description:

Will provide ad hoc analytics in support of forecasting and monitoring

needs. Will work with other members of the Actuarial department with

respect to forecasting, trend development, and rate models. Will

leverage an understanding of the impact of the Affordable Care Act (ACA)

regulations and adjust models and reporting accordingly. Will assist in

the development of the annual budget, develop models, and monitor and

project Medical Loss Ratio Rebates.

Education & Experience Requirements:

Master’s degree or equivalent in Actuarial Science, Mathematics,

Business or a related quantitative field and no experience.

Or, in the alternative:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Actuarial Science, Mathematics,

Business or a related quantitative field plus 2 years of experience

providing actuarial forecasting for the healthcare, life,

property/casualty, or financial services markets.

Must also have passed at least two (2) examinations in the Society of

Actuaries exam series.

Special Requirements:

(1) Demonstrated experience applying actuarial, underwriting, and

financial principles within one of the following markets: health care,

life, property/casualty, or financial services;

(2) Demonstrated experience utilizing Microsoft Excel, including the

ability to use functions, pivot tables, and basic macro editing;

(3) Demonstrated experience utilizing data analysis software (such as

SAS, SQL, or Microsoft Access), in order to extract and manipulate large

data sets.
