Job Description:

Duties: Responsible for providing expert scientific contribution which

impacts PLS (Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences) Business Operations group

projects having a breadth of impact across PLS and external to Waters

within discipline. Provide leadership to a team(s) of scientists in the

provision of new science, technologies, method, practices, and ways of

working. Identify, champion, and develop new scientific ideas to present

to PLS management. Advise senior management on new science and technology

within their discipline. Provide strategic advice to PLS management on new

scientific programs and opportunities and to advise on existing

research/development activities. Develop understanding of customers'

science objectives through customer collaborations, maintaining an

awareness of competitor activities to support short and long term PLS

business objectives targeting appropriate market segments with Company

solutions. Provide disciplinary scientific leadership to present work

through patents, publications, and lectures. When appropriate, patent

and/or publish papers and reviews in internationally recognized journals.

Produce suitable material for technical marketing literature to enable the

development of marketing initiatives in support of Field Marketing and

Sales activity. Work collaboratively across organization with Product

Management and R&D on current and new products and solutions that will

better meet customer business objectives (may entail identifying

partnerships and acquisition opportunities to support the group's

strategy). Drive collaboration and knowledge sharing through the

development of cross-functional scientific networks in areas that are

critical to the business. Work collaboratively in a highly-matrixed

organization with other professionals throughout the organization to ensure

transfer of best practices and overall science development. Ensure

compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements: Master's degree in biochemistry, chemistry, biology or

related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) as well as

four years' experience in job offered or four years’ experience the related

field of DMPK (drug metabolism pharmacokinetics), bioanalysis, and ADME

studies (adsorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion) or,

alternatively, a Bachelor's degree and 6 years of experience as noted

above. Experience must include: Demonstrated expertise understanding

interrelationships between groups and a demonstrated ability to influence

across functional boundaries; Experience in a variety of therapeutic areas

in preclinical and development spaces; Expertise in LC/MS method

development for analysis of drug candidates, biomarkers, and protein and

peptide analysis; Demonstrated skill in both qualitative and quantitative

LC/MS analysis; Expertise using triple quadrupole systems, ion mobility

mass spectrometry, MassLynx software, application managers, and UNIFI

software platform; Expertise in chromatography and use of various HPLC/UPLC

systems, fraction collection technologies and detectors (diode array,

fluorescence, radiometric); and Expertise in high-resolution mass

spectrometry (HRMS) and software processing of HRMS data for metabolite

identification, structural elucidation, and lead optimization support.
