(MULTIPLE OPENINGS) JOB DESCRIPTION: Investigates basic technical problems pertaining to protein
formulation development and stability characterization. Performs
routine scientific procedures and experiments under general
supervision. Plans and prioritizes concurrent experimental
procedures. Integrates, complies, and tabulates data and assists
supervisor in the analysis and interpretation of the results. May
provide oral presentations on results to other department
members. Works independently under general supervision and direction.
Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and
accuracy. Performs work that consistently requires independent
decision making and the exercise of independent judgment and
discretion. Duties require advanced knowledge in specialized field
of learning. REQUIREMENTS: Master of Science degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry,
Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, or related field (or
equivalent foreign education) and 1 year of experience in
Industrial Formulation Development OR, in the alternative, Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry,
Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, or related field (or
equivalent foreign education) and 3 years experience in Industrial
Formulation Development. SPECIAL SKILLS/DEMONSTRATED EXPERTISE: 1.) Demonstrated experience utilizing analytical techniques
(including spectroscopy, calorimetry, enzyme activity assays,
ELISA, chromatography, and light scattering) to characterize and
evaluate the stability of lyophilized solid and liquid drug product
dosage forms. 2.) Demonstrated experience with particle size and shape
characterization utilizing dynamic light scattering techniques. 3.) Demonstrated experience working with alternative drug
delivery platforms, including liposomes, suspensions,
nanoparticles, and implantable matrices. 4.) Demonstrated experience in thermal analysis, including TGA
and DSC. 5.) Demonstrated expertise in aseptic and sterile material
preparation and handling, including training in cGMP and cGLP
