Position: Software Engineer III (Marketing Platforms - Customer

Intelligence - Tracking) (Boston, Massachusetts)

This posting covers multiple openings for the position described.

Duties: Perform high-level web development for highly-trafficked e-

commerce site; scale website to handle over one million unique visitors

per day. Work with Big Data, Analytics and Marketing teams to develop

and manage e-commerce systems. Develop large systems using PHP and/or

Python in support of e-commerce sites, internal applications and

supplier extranet. Perform MS SQL database design, development and

performance optimization. Develop web applications using Java

technologies. Work with multiple business stakeholders and other

client-side technology teams to create next-generation site features;

engage in high-level client side architecture discussions. Perform code

reviews and train and mentor junior engineers. Plan and execute all

phases of the software development lifecycle using Agile SCRUM

methodology.

Requirements: Master of Science degree in engineering, computer science,

information systems (willing to accept foreign education equivalent)

plus 2 years’ experience performing Java, PHP and SQL design and

development or, alternatively, a Bachelor's degree and five years of

experience as stated above. Also requires, demonstrated expertise

utilizing PHP for web development to build e-commerce platforms and code

website logic; performing JavaScript development for front-end web

browser to collect and report on trading data; utilizing Java for

building large scale backend applications in an enterprise setting;

performing SQL development including stored procedures, triggers and

data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL); performing Kafka

design and development including message broker to enable messaging

across various systems such as e-commerce websites and tracking systems;

performing Apache Storm development to create logic to read and react to

messages; and interfacing with product managers to gather requirements,

and translating requirements into technical architecture.
