Job Description:

Duties: Perform quality control (QC) testing for the qualification of

chromatographic materials, reagents, and kits. Conduct advanced

troubleshooting for complex QC test methods and Liquid Chromotography

(LC) instrumentation. Coordinate with R&D and Technical Support to

implement new production methods. Perform general QC lab tasks including

TGA, Carbon, pH, Density, Total solids, Karl Fisher, Titrator, Nitrogen

Sorption, Particle Size, UV/Vis, Conductivity, ICP Atomic Emission, GC,

and Liquid Chromatography (HPLC, UPLC, SFC and LC-MS). Write and revise

QC procedures and forms, promoting continuous QC lab improvements and

incorporating relevant improvement initiatives, ensuring and promoting

compliance with all quality, safety, and environmental policies and

practices.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology,

Biotechnology, Pharmacology or related science discipline or related

field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus 5 years of

experience conducting HPLC analysis and instrument calibration in an

analytical chemistry environment, OR, alternatively, a Master's degree

and three years of experience as stated above. Also requires

demonstrated expertise (DE) applying advanced LC and wet chemistry

concepts to perform HPLC maintenance and instrument calibration,

including bandspread tests, pump leak tests, autosampler leak tests and

detector calibration; DE utilizing LC instrument repair skills to

identify and locate the malfunctioning parts of HPLC based on

chromatographs and instrument performance test outcomes, and to replace

HPLC pump parts, autosampler injection needles, and detector parts; DE

performing LC analysis of small molecules and proteins, including amino

acid analysis and glycan analysis; DE utilizing chromatography data

software (CDS) to run analytical equipment; and, DE performing protein

intact mass analysis and peptide mapping with LC-MS, including protein

desalination, purification, in-gel digestion and protein sequencing.
