Associate Director, Human Resources Information Systems Harvard Business School 53711BR Job Summary The Associate Director, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), owns all aspects of the School's staff data including ensuring compliance, reporting and strategic analytics. The Associate Director (AD) is responsible for the main HR system, PeopleSoft, and ancillary systems including internal information resources, and potentially a future instance of an information tracking system such as ServiceNow. Job-Specific Responsibilities Reporting to the Director, Harvard Business School (HBS) Human Resources Officer, the Associate Director, HRIS is responsible for providing expertise and management of various information systems and data to support the mission of each HBS Department and the School. Develop and implement local business processes and support University systems, HBS systems and key Human Resources initiatives.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver workforce information and analysis to HBS leaders responsible for strategy and decision making using QlikView, PeopleSoft, Harvard Data Warehouse reports and other systems.
  • Ensuring data quality and integrity for PeopleSoft data and hierarchy structure as well as oversight for all security access roles for PeopleSoft, CREW, Aspire and MIDAS.
  • Manage and maintain the confidentiality and security of all data including High Risk Confidential Information.
  • Identify and think creatively about potential systems to improve HRIS and HBS HR systems and information flow.
  • Lead the assessment of potential systems, make recommendations and manage implementation.
  • Lead regular meetings with CHRO, CFO, Controller and other HR and Finance representatives on matters of mutual interest.
  • Serve as a liaison to the University and represent HBS on various committees to collaborate and discuss topics of common interest, develop solutions to issues and determine best practices.
  • Develop, assess and distribute a portfolio of monthly, quarterly and annual HR audit reports to manage risk and ensure that compliance objectives are met.
  • Primary contact for problem-solving/troubleshooting inquiries from both internal and external peers and end-users.
  • Train staff and provide ongoing support.
  • May manage the Temporary Payroll and HRIS Coordinator.
  • Other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications
    • 7+ years of progressive HR and Data Analytics experience required
    • Advanced knowledge of Human Resource functional analysis required
    • Oracle Financial and/or PeopleSoft Human Resources expertise required Additional Qualifications and Skills
      • Consultative approach to systems users, proven communication skills to bridge technical information to non-technical users.
      • Experience with and deep curiosity around data analytics and visualization.
      • Familiarity with higher education setting preferred.
      • High comfort serving as a subject matter expert, being able to range from everyday data management to strategic level thinking. Additional Information During the current period of COVID-19 related restrictions, this position may start as a remote position with the transition to onsite at HBS campus in Boston, MA when the office reopens.
