Our client, a highly regarded 25-person real estate private
equity firm in Boston is searching for a Tax Director. This firm
has a history and track record of putting employees first The

and flexibility. If you are a CPA with 6-10 years of Big Four
public accounting experience focused on real estate or real estate
private equity, consider learning more about this unique role and

Tax Director, reporting to the CFO, you will oversee tax for the
firm and gain exposure to all areas of the business, including
working with investors and the research and investment team. You
will oversee tax planning of both asset level and fund level
entities by interpreting tax regulations, completing tax returns
and ensuring compliance. The company offers a top compensation and
benefits package. Compensation range of $150,000-$200,000
(flexible), bonus of 20%-30% or higher, points/carry in funds and
100% of all health/medical benefits paid for by the firm. This
includes individual and family plans. As mentioned above, the

Essential Functions: Perform technical tax reviews and handle
quality control of U.S. real estate partnership funds, general
partner management company partnerships, REITs and blocker
corporations Responsible for all tax strategy and planning
functions Begin and complete tax research projects, including the
ability to present findings and positions in a clear, concise,
understandable written form Act as a resource for tax
preparers/specialists/tax legal counsel and audit staff on specific
tax issues and/or questions Assume full responsibility of the tax
process including managing external consultants (Both U.S. and
non-U.S.). This includes being responsible for personnel
scheduling, compliance with due dates, tracking billings and
monitoring time budgets Assume tax preparation responsibility for
certain areas for more complex returns (e.g., allocations) Manage
time effectively. This includes the ability to manage multiple
projects at one time and meet deadlines Maintain knowledge of
general economic and political trends of possible tax or other
legislation that could affect the business climate Work closely
with the CFO on special projects, as needed Assist with due
diligence process to ensure REIT tax compliance and research other
