It has never been a more exciting time to work in energy and we're looking for people who are full of enthusiasm to help us build and run a greener, cleaner energy system for the future.Job PurposeThe Lead, Finance Business Partner-Corporate Finance, US Treasury will play a key leadership role ensuring the efficient and effective financing of National Grid's US businesses. - -Scope for the role ranges from high level strategic planning to coordinating the execution of financing activities in line with governance requirements of the company and our State and Federal Regulators. - -The role requires a significant Business Partnering focus - ensuring effective communication and coordination across a wide range of senior stakeholders and taking the initiative on driving business outcomes that add value are key. -The rapidly changing business landscape in which we operate requires the Lead Analyst to present innovative and commercially focused recommendations to ensure US treasury keeps pace with changing needs.
-Key Accountabilities--- - - -Lead strategic modeling of forward funding plans for US OpCos and make informed recommendations to leadership
--- - - -Point person for collaboration with business planning teams to ensure alignment of processes and outputs
--- - - -Review and advise on effectiveness of treasury strategic modeling and how this aligns to business plans, including new business opportunities.
--- - - -Assist with reviewing US credit metrics and work closely with business planning teams to advise on metrics implications of plan scenarios.
--- - - -Recommend ways to integrate credit metrics projections and analyses into treasury strategic models and other processes/tools
--- - - -Ensure US OpCos are closely aligned with its adjudicated capital structures through proposed debt issuances, dividends and/or equity injections
--- - - -Lead effort in filing financing petitions with state and federal regulators on behalf of US OpCos
--- - - -Respond to data and information requests as part of rate case interrogatories -
--- - - -Draft board papers for approval of Treasury type transactions such as financing petitions, issuance of debt, alignment of capital structure, etc.
--- - - -Track and manage US debt portfolio compliance obligations to various trustees and noteholders
--- - - -Administer semi-annual and annual compliance filings with state regulators
--- - - -Work closely with Reporting and Accounting department on Treasury related transactions including footnotes disclosed in the financials
--- - - -Facilitate the issuance of Letters of Credit (LoC) and maintain overview of US position on all outstanding LoCs.
--- - - -Ensure regular, responsive, and value-added interaction with diverse range of stakeholders including but not limited to Regulatory, Legal, UK Treasury and US Finance -
--- - - -Support the US Director's initiatives and various projects
- -Qualifications--- - - -Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Economics -preferred, with 3 to 5+ years of relevant experience.
--- - - -Solid understanding of the principles of business funding and cash-flows.
--- - - -Prior experience of finance in the regulated utility sector an advantage.
--- - - -Prior exposure to the treasury function in a large complex business and advantage.
--- - - -Business acumen with a clear-eyed understanding of how we deliver for customers and make money for shareholders, and the drive to optimize outcomes across those dimensions.
--- - - -Analytical mindset, able to think through complexity and home in on key factors that drive outcomes
--- - - -Intellectually curious with the desire to understand the big picture of the US business and able to draw direct connections to the implications for treasury strategy
--- - - -Confidence and maturity to operate effectively in a small team environment; able to work independently when required, while always keeping leadership informed and seeking support where necessary.
--- - - -Demonstrable drive to develop both technical and leadership capabilities.
--- - - -Excellent customer focus and stakeholder management skills; able to exert influence while providing high level of service to a wide range of senior level internal and external parties.
