Job DetailsLevelManagementJob LocationRoxbury (Headquarters) - Roxbury, MAPosition TypeFull TimeEducation Level4 Year DegreeSalary Range$57,475.00 - $68,970.00 Job ShiftDayJob CategoryFinanceTitle/Position: Senior AccountantLocation: RoxburyReports to: Senior Finance DirectorFLSA Class: ExemptDate Revised: April 2022Position Summary The Senior Accountant will be responsible for accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and monitoring of fiscal policies and practices.This role directs the agencys accounting functions and work with senior management across the organization to educate and support fiscal management and compliance with policies and practices.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare the deliverables of the Finance department related to monthly closings, including maintaining ledger, accruals, and reconciliations.Prepare monthly financial reports for leadership presentation, including variance reporting, as well as financial projections as necessary.Work with Development staff to accurately account for and track giving.Demonstrate and train accounting staff of function and features on accounting software.Design and prepare reports that support needs of the organization along with individual departments.Develop, implement and monitor a calendar of financial cycles, including tax, audit, regulatory and other management reports.Design, implement and document systems/processes to improve workflows and meet new and complex requirements for financial accounting, management information and reporting.Participate in the development, communication and achievement of organizational financial policies and goals.Monitor accounting policies and practices; review, monitor and maintain high standards for internal controls within Accounting Office and throughout agency.Provide oversight for Accounts Receivable, including daily cash receipts and G/L entries, as well as invoicing on all major grants and contracts.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field requiredCPA or MBA preferredA minimum of 5 years experience in related fieldKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong analytical, accounting, and reporting skills, non-profit accounting a plusMS Office expertise and accounting software competency, NetSuite experience a plusDemonstrated ability to recommend, implement and document new policies and practicesStrong project management, follow-through and outstanding customer service skills; must have proven good judgment and creativity in solving problemsGood interpersonal and communication skills requiredAbility to work independently and as part of a teamCommitment to Horizons mission and ability to embody our core values (Collaborative, Inclusive, Innovative, and Passionate).
