Job Description:

Under the direction of the Director of Finance Operations, the Manager of Finance Operations is responsible for oversight and management of all claims disbursements and collections functions all lines of business. Key accountabilities include management and oversight of all claims-related payment processes, provider negative balances, and meeting strict service-related deliverables; partnering with business partners on collection strategies; business process analysis, improvements and execution; project participation and requirements development; and optimizing claims payment systems. In addition, this position will build and manage a team that delivers quality results efficiently and timely. -KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Proactively manage complex business processes to ensure timely and accurate completion
  • Prioritize work across multiple teams and business processes, and facilitate issue resolution
  • Interact regularly with management and leadership teams to understand and meet business goals
  • Manage complex initiatives and project work to ensure accurate and timely completion, and communicate project and team statuses, issues, risks, and recommendations to management
  • Collaborate closely with business partners, and IT to identify areas of automation and efficiency
  • Responsible for ongoing day to day vendor relationship management to support finance operations functions
  • Support, coach, and train staff to ensure a smooth functioning and high performing department; Mentor, motivate and develop staff to obtain maximum performance; Provide performance feedback and reviews
  • Continuously improve department procedures, management processes and technology solutions
  • Ensure adherence to corporate controls and polices, and regulatory requirements
  • Other duties and projects as assignedDetailed Responsibilities:
    • Responsible for the timely validation, monitoring and release of weekly and monthly provider claims payments for all lines of business, including manual payments and cash advances
    • Management of various claims payment-related processes including void and refunded payments, unapplied cash receipts, online banking, and regulatory-related processes
    • Responsible for provider negative balance collection processes including monitoring balances across multiple claims systems and lines of business, facilitating interdepartmental workgroups to optimize operational collection processes, ensuring timely and accurate provider collections and reporting, and communicating status to Leadership
    • Implementation of corporate projects and business initiatives into existing finance operations business processes, including new payment arrangements, vendor programs, business partnerships and system implementations/upgrades and testing to support key strategic initiatives
    • Completion of account reconciliations, analysis and reportingQUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
      • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Operations or related field or equivalent work experience.EXPERIENCE (minimum years required):
        • 5+ years progressive work experience in finance, operations, project management or related field. Prior experience with broker relations is required.
        • Managed health care experience is preferred. Reporting and analytical experience required.
        • Experience in hiring, coaching, leading, motivating and managing performance of direct reports.SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
          • Highly organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented and energetic team player
          • Requires a high level of initiative and ability to work independently in a high-volume transactional environment with shifting priorities
          • Strong operational problem-solving skills with a clear understanding of impacts on downstream departments
          • Must be able to interpret complex business situations and understand the Financial Operations implication, and work with multiple systems.
          • Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with staff, all levels of management and internal stakeholders
          • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills required.
