Please be sure to check your SPAM so that you do not miss critical information about our process, including scheduling. -Position Overview: -Reporting to the Chief Actuary of Global Atlantic, the Appointed Actuary will be a senior and trusted leader of the Actuarial group.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide the Actuarial Reserve Opinion for most of Global Atlantic's US Life companies
  • Manage cash-flow testing processes on both an annual and quarterly basis
  • Coordinate activities with other senior actuaries (e.g., Heads of Valuation and Modeling) as well as leaders within Risk, Investments, Finance, and other departments
  • Interact with Regulators, Auditors, and Reinsurance Clients as necessary
  • Support audit and regulatory requests
  • Manage a small team of staff initially with plans to increase staff leadership responsibilities over time
  • Expectations are that the candidate will quickly get up to speed on Global Atlantic's business, products, structure, processes, etc., and then transition the work (and knowledge) from the current Appointed Actuary who will remain at the Company in another roleQualifications
    • FSA, MAAA
    • Bachelor's degree required, concentration in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Finance preferred
    • 15+ years of experience in the insurance industry
    • Deep knowledge of Life and Annuity products
    • Strong understanding of US Statutory regulations and requirements
    • Prior Appointed Actuary experience a plus
    • Reports to the Chief Actuary
    • Impactful communicator at all levels of the business
    • Experience leading a team and collaborating with othersGlobal Atlantic's -base salary range -is determined through an analysis of similar positions in the external labor market. The annual base salary range provided in this posting for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. Base pay is just one component of Global Atlantic's total compensation package for employees and at times we hire outside the boundaries of the salary range. Other rewards may include annual cash bonuses, long-term incentives (equity), generous benefits (including immediate vesting on employee contributions to a 401(k), as well as a company match on your contributions), and sales incentives. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Compensation for our more senior positions have a larger component of short-term cash bonus and long-term incentives.
