focused on contributing to the growth and success of Hometap Equity
Partners, and its associated investment vehicles, through accurate,
timely and insightful financial reporting, analysis, and modeling;
serving as a collaborative, trusted business partner to internal
stakeholders to promote efficiency and scalability; working with
prospective and current capital partners to deliver an A+
experience; and using data-driven insights to inform financial and
operational decisions across the organization.Finance is organized
into three collaborative verticals, including, Accounting, Capital
MarketsOperations, and Strategic Finance. Our Strategic Finance
Associate will report to the Director of Strategic Finance and work
closely with Finance, Capital Markets, Investor Product / Product
Strategy, Data Science, and others to help develop, prioritize, and
execute against our roadmap.Community is at the core of what we do
at Hometap. While this role is fully remote, we're prioritizing
candidates who are located in the Northeastern US and will be
available to come to our Boston office occasionally for work

- Someone with 3+ years of relatable experience in investment
banking, private equity / hedge funds, or management consulting;
ideally with additional experience at a high-growth operating
company. Experience with FinTech and/or FIG is a plus
- You have the ability to successfully operate in a fast-paced
dynamic environment experiencing growth and expansion
- Are comfortable in a cross-functional, collaborative team
setting
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
- Knowledge of financial markets and an understanding of how we
fit into the larger FinTech universe
- Excellent communicator with very strong presentation
skills
- Prioritize attention to detailWhat you'll do:
- Integral to the long-term financial planning process
- Create and maintain operating, fund, and portfolio models
- Provide a smooth experience for prospective and current capital
partners through the diligence process upfront, as well as
post-close
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across various
departments to provide a financial "lens" in evaluating
opportunities and decisions (e.g. capital allocation, new products,
compensation design, ad-hoc analysis, etc.)
- Own all aspects of OpCo strategic decisions (e.g. potential
M&A, fundraising, etc.)
- Analyze financial performance of the organization and identify
levers for value creation / scalability
- Work with Capital Markets Operations to model and project
liquidity and funding needs for near/medium-term ongoing investment
deployment outlook
- Help with "traditional FP&A" workstreams such as annual
budgeting and forecasting, quarterly re-forecast process, resource
& hiring planning, etc.
- Provide insightful updates on a periodic basis to investors of
current investment vehicles on asset performance, key trends and
KPIs, updated projections, etc.What you'll bring:
- Robust Excel-based modeling experience; highly proficient with
complex financial models
- Ability to create and present materials to internal and
external stakeholders
- Perspectives about how Hometap should position itself to
investors (public and private) in an ever-changing economy and
market
- An ownership approach to your work with a track record of
delivering business results through analysis in a fast-paced
environment
- Curiosity and strong critical thinking skills, including the
ability to identify and summarize key points in any analysis
- Developed prioritization skills and ability to balance both
short-term and long-term objectives
- History of working cross functionally and building positive
relationships with people and teams across a diverse
organization
- Ability to work at both the strategic (e.g. "big picture") and
detailed level (e.g. "in the weeds")
- Robust knowledge of GAAP accounting practices as well as
accounting systems and processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills along with
evidenced ability to work well with business partners
- Growth mindset with a demonstrated capability to rapidly pick
up and master new, complex concepts and ideas
- Strong ability to translate complex business issues into a
quantitative framework for analysis and to derive insights, often
using large data sets and starting from a "blank canvas"Hometap is
