• This individual will report to the Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration/Treasurer
  
• Hybrid schedule is available for the Controller and most other administrative staff
  The Controller's responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  
  • Overall responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, oversight and maintenance of the University's financial records
    
  • Provide adequate internal controls and preparing financial reports in compliance with GAAP and in compliance with federal, state and local law and regulations related to the finances of not for profit institutions
    
  • Provide effective leadership for the Accounting and Payroll Departments, and oversee the operations of the Accounting and Payroll Departments and managing direct reports
    
  • Lead the external fiscal interim, year-end and Uniform Guidance audits, and prepare the financial statements, Form 990 and other tax forms.
    
  • The Controller will also serve as primary liaison and contact for the external audit firm
    Qualifications for the Controller:
    
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or experience equivalent
      
    • CPA is a plus
      
    • 10+ years of financial operations experience, with at least 5 years in a Controller role
      
    • Non-profit/higher education industry experience preferred but not required
