for you. We are looking for an Assurance Advisory Consultant who
will integrate into our team, advise clients on the design and
implementation of internal controls, and lead testing efforts on
internal control engagements. This opportunity will provide
individuals the chance to work in a dynamic and growing service
line, with unique challenges to optimize and standardize the work
we do. With oversight by Principals or Managers, you will
collaborate with other dynamic individuals on the team to prepare
client deliverables, lead client meetings and serve as a partner to
all stakeholders we work with. We expect our internal consultants
to demonstrate technical proficiency, provide responsive client
service, and be proactive and professional in their engagement
work.Competencies and Position Requirements
- Possesses a deep understanding of internal controls, process
design, internal audit, and compliance requirements
- Demonstrates understanding of SOX engagement stages, key
deliverables, and client requirements
- Develops documentation of existing internal controls and
internal processes
- Reviews and evaluates the effectiveness of internal controls in
a variety of business areas
- Assists with special projects related to internal controls,
financial reporting, agreed upon procedures, or consulting
services
- Fields client requests in a timely manner, provides clear
responses, and establishes (and re-establishes) expectations
- Identifies issues, develops sound solutions, and discusses
evaluation and/or resolution with key stakeholders
- Maintains responsibility for the profitability of engagements
by tracking budget to actual results
- Mentors and empowers team members with honest and constructive
feedback
- Identifies and seeks trainings, conferences, industry trends,
and other knowledge share outlets to help support and develop the
BNN SOX practice
- Adapts to changes in compliance landscape, including SEC and
PCAOB inspection results and trends as well as maintains awareness
of latest business risks
- Participates, when asked, in firm events, including recruiting
events, education seminars, business development efforts, and other
areas
- Is proactive, thoughtful and organized to increase the
consistency and comprehensiveness of firm documentation and
deliverablesEducation and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar field
- At least 3 years' experience in the fields of Internal Audit or
Assurance; Big 4 experience is a plus
- Working knowledge of SOX requirements consistent with PCAOB
standards, and the COSO Integrated Internal Control Framework
- Interested in obtaining the Certified Internal Controls Auditor
certification or other relevant licensing; In process or Active
licensure or certification preferred
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Limited travel required
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business
needs
