About the team What this team is about, and the challenges you will tackle: Our team's mission is to build cutting-edge advertising technology to support and help grow sustainable advertising business. Team owns server technologies, data, cloud services, and test engineering for advertising. In this role you will work as a key member of Data Management Platform (DMP) team. About the role You will design, develop, and operate components of our system to manage segments, model households and help advertisers achieve the best ROI for their campaign spend. DMP works off 10s of terabytes of data ingested every day and petabyte-sized data warehouse using big data technologies like Map-Reduce, Hive/Presto, Kafka, Spark, and Aerospike. What you'll be doing Design, develop, and maintain efficient large-scale data pipelines to collect and transform rich data using big data technologies Design, develop and maintain data services with millisecond latencies Design, develop and maintain user-profiles infrastructure using technologies like Aerospike, Druid, Spark and Hive Conduct low level systems debugging, performance measurement & optimization on large production clusters. Identify, design, and implement improvements to current architecture. This may include internal process improvements, automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, reducing cost, re-designing infrastructure for greater reliability, etc. Participate in architecture discussions, influence product roadmap, and take ownership and responsibility over new projects We're excited if you have Background in computer science or similar quantitative field 5+ years professional software development experience Strong understanding of and experience with distributed computing framework like Hive/Hadoop and Apache Spark Familiarity with NoSql databases like Aerospike or HBase Python /Scala / Java / SQL Experience building REST services in frameworks like Play The Roku culture Roku is a great place for people who want to work in a fast-paced environment where everyone is focused on the company's success rather than their own.
