SummaryAs a key member of the Innosight marketing team, the
Writer-Editor will have the opportunity to create high-impact
business content across a variety of media and formats. Innosight
is recognized for its agenda-setting management ideas starting with
cofounder Clay Christensens work on disruptive innovation -- and
this individual will help create the next generation of thought
leadership by producing articles, executive briefings, videos, case
studies, and other editorial products that inform and inspire
business leaders and advance Innosights business strategy.This
individual will act as a thought partner and editor, working with
authors/subject matter experts to bring new ideas to life, analyze
information and synthesize insights, and create compelling
narratives and perspectives that inspire target audiences to take
action. Content areas include strategy, innovation, and leadership,
with some sector focus (including but not limited to industrials,
financial services, and consumer products). Reporting to the
Innosight CMO, the senior editor will also work closely with
marketing team members to set content strategy, create
opportunities to extend the impact and reach of content, develop
content for other key audiences (recruiting), and execute the
overall marketing strategy. Versatility across formats and
channels, ability to absorb ideas quickly, and developing
trust-based relationships with colleagues will be critical to
success. This role is highly collaborative in nature; the ideal
candidate will be able to operate at a senior level and also have
the ability to roll up their sleeves to execute.QualificationsTHE
ROLE Work closely with Innosight and Huron Consulting Group subject
matter experts to identify, co-create, and edit high-quality,
audience-centric thought leadership. This includes short-form
digital articles, longer-form articles, case studies, research
reports, video, audio, and others. Extract often-complex ideas from
a variety of sources Powerpoint presentations, interviews, etc and
make them accessible, relevant and engaging Adapt longer form
articles and ebooks into concise and effective content for use in
social media and other channels Collaborate with the CMO to set the
content agenda and priorities and develop innovative new formats
for reaching key audiences Apply best practices for content
optimization for digital channels and audience engagement Support
special editorial projects for cross-functional initiatives such as
recruiting / talent acquisition Ensure consistency of messaging and
tone across channels and audience touchpoints Develop article and
book pitches for external publishers and business media sites Write
web copy, email, and other collateral content as needed Stay
informed of business news, the management consulting landscape, and
content trendsQUALIFICATIONS At least 8 years experience developing
and writing business or management content, ideally with some
business journalism experience Exceptional editorial skills and
judgment; ability to rapidly absorb complex ideas and distill them
into accessible copy for global audiences A portfolio demonstrating
versatility across different formats and writing styles BA
required, advanced degree a plus Knowledge of business trends and
management issues, with solid understanding of corporate strategy,
innovation, and leadership theory and practice Digital-forward
mentality: an ability to tell stories and communicate insights in a
variety of digital formats and an appreciation of digital analytics
Ability to work collaboratively with senior leaders in a fast-paced
environment Deadline-oriented and results-oriented Understanding
and appreciation of search engine optimization (SEO) principles to
ensure content finds the right audience Demonstrates high level of
professionalism Possess both a strong team orientation and ability
