Resource Center at Emmanuel College seeks a part-time, in-person
Writing Specialist/Test Proctor (10-15 hours a week during the
academic year) to 1) provide individual and small group writing and
research support to undergraduate and graduate students and 2)
assist with the process of proctoring student exams for Disability
Support Services when necessary. The Writing Specialist/Test
Proctor will collaborate with ARC/DSS staff in refining,
documenting, and providing writing support and test proctoring
services. Some early evening hours may be required.This position
requires strong interpersonal, organizational, and writing skills;
attention to detail; professionalism with a calm, helpful manner;
proactive critical thinking to make independent on-the-spot
decisions and problem solve effectively; technical skills in an
academic environment (particularly Microsoft Office 365); and an
ability to work in a diverse, student-centered, service-oriented
environment. Preference given to candidates with prior experience
tutoring or teaching writing and students with disabilities.
Familiarity with Emmanuel College, disability practices in higher
education, and/or experience working in higher education a plus.
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred. Please apply
