Working under the direction of the Manager or Senior Team Lead,
will be responsible for designing, developing and testing
sophisticated software; developing complex technology that enables
scientists and engineers to incorporate instruments such as
spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and function generators into
their MATLAB-based technical computing workflows; participating in
all phases of the design, development, and testing of instrument
connectivity over a variety of standard interfaces and driver
technologies; executing the entire development process including
requirements gathering, functional and design specifications,
design reviews, implementation and code reviews, and unit testing;
and working closely with other developers, quality engineers, user
experience specialists, and documentation specialists to develop
and document features for toolboxes.
Education and Experience:
Masters degree or higher (or foreign education equivalent) in
Engineering or Computer Science and no experience.
Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in
Engineering or Computer Science and five (5) years of experience in
job offered or five (5) years of experience in development,
testing, or technical support of MATLAB-based software interfaces
to external hardware.
Demonstrated expertise programming in MATLAB, C++ and C.
Demonstrated expertise in development or technical support of
APIs with instrumentation hardware -- Oscilloscopes, Function
Generators, Digital Multimeters, and PLCs -- using industry
standard protocols and transports -- TCP/IP, I2C, RS232, UDP,
Bluetooth and VISA.
Demonstrated expertise in object-oriented design, analysis and
development for interfacing with test and measurement
Demonstrated expertise in design, development and testing of
instrument connectivity software using MATLAB along the Software
Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
