Job Description:
Working under the direction of the Manager or Senior Team Lead,
will be responsible for designing and developing sophisticated
testing software; performing UI, backend and architecture testing
for community web applications such as MATLAB Answers, Add-On
Explorer, and File Exchange; implementing non-functional testing
including performance, security, and high availability testing;
participating in design, functional, and architectural reviews;
qualifying Ruby/PHP, Java, and HTML web applications in a
multi-tier and multi-browser environment; developing and
documenting test strategies and test procedures based on functional
and design specifications; designing and developing test suites
with a strong emphasis on test automation and browser compatibility
testing; influencing product design, functional specification, test
specification, and documentation; analyzing and reporting bugs and
working to resolve them; following QE best practices and fostering
a continuous process improvement environment; and participating in
Agile development processes. Education and Experience: Masters degree or higher (or foreign education equivalent) in
Engineering or Computer Science and no experience. OR Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in
Engineering or Computer Science and five (5) years of experience in
job offered or five (5) years of experience developing or testing
Java, JavaScript and Ruby on Rails web applications, web services,
and web infrastructure. Special Requirements: Demonstrated expertise developing or testing web applications
using JavaScript, HTML, JUnit, Java, and Ruby on Rails; and
performing version control using Perforce or GitHub. Demonstrated expertise building and packaging distributed web
services and microservices using Vagrant or Docker. Demonstrated expertise in development or testing of web
application architecture, including writing automated tests and
software documentation within JavaScript, Java or Ruby on Rails
frameworks, and within Linux or UNIX and MySQL or Oracle
environments. Demonstrated expertise designing automated testing frameworks
and writing automated testing scripts for web applications using
