Job Description:
Working under the direction of the Director or Senior Manager,
will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing
technical writing activities for MathWorks sophisticated embedded
system software products; managing a team of highly skilled
Technical Writers to write documentation and develop examples that
teach engineers and scientists how to use sophisticated software to
model, simulate, and generate code for dynamic and embedded
systems; guiding and coaching technical writing projects to ensure
creation of user-focused documentation that includes: examples,
tutorials, conceptual topics, and reference material; providing
day-to-day mentorship and coaching for Technical Writers on how to
work effectively and efficiently with their project teams; and
coaching direct reports, including setting goals and objectives,
writing reviews and holding regular one-on-one meetings. Education and Experience: Masters degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely
related field (or foreign education equivalent) and four (4) years
of experience in job offered or four (4) years of experience
performing engineering technical writing of embedded systems
technologies. OR Ph.D degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely
related field (or foreign education equivalent) and two (2) years
of experience in job offered or two (2) years of experience
performing engineering technical writing of embedded systems
technologies. Special Requirements: Demonstrated expertise developing technical documentation for
embedded systems technologies and embedded programming languages
using C/C++, CUDA, Verilog, or VHDL. Demonstrated expertise developing technical writing competencies
and processes by providing specific and actionable design feedback
and content feedback; and developing processes to support
documentation quality. Demonstrated expertise developing and presenting user
documentation for web- or desktop-based content. Demonstrated expertise leading technical writing projects,
including documentation strategies, project management, and
