Job Description:

Will be responsible for contributing to the marketing and sales of MathWorks sophisticated financial engineering products to customers in the finance industry, with a focus on asset management, risk analysis, actuarial, and economic analysis; designing and developing sophisticated financial software product models and simulations to demonstrate MathWorks software products capabilities for financial analysis; developing and delivering technical financial engineering demonstrations of MathWorks products to support the companys sales activities; engaging with financial engineers and analysts to demonstrate the value of MathWorks solutions; providing technical pre-sales support and mentorship to MathWorks sales organization and customers in computational finance; working with prospective customers in computational finance to understand their workflows and provide sound recommendations on how solutions from MathWorks can improve their results; preparing and delivering technical presentations and demonstrations; working closely with the worldwide MathWorks application engineering, development, and marketing organizations to further improve financial software product offerings, identify new application areas based on customer interactions, and develop accurate and compelling messaging targeting the marketplace; and managing product evaluations and guiding customers to adopt MathWorks solutions in asset allocation, risk management, and macroeconomic research. Requires domestic/international travel based on company/client need (approximately 40 %).

Education and Experience:

Masters degree in Engineering, Financial Mathematics, Mathematical Sciences or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and two (2) years of experience as a Senior Application Engineer (or related occupation) performing development or technical support of financial and statistical and machine learning toolboxes.

OR

Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Financial Mathematics, Mathematical Sciences, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and no experience.

OR

Bachelors degree in Engineering, Financial Mathematics, Mathematical Sciences or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Senior Application Engineer (or related occupation) performing development or technical support of financial and statistical and machine learning toolboxes.

Special Requirements:

Demonstrated expertise performing time series modeling and analysis using stochastic and parametric techniques -- standard distribution fitting -- stochastic differential equations, and Monte-Carlo simulation models -- Geometric Brownian Motion and Heston Volatility.

Demonstrated expertise in development or technical support of financial and statistical modeling functionality using MATLABs Financial, Statistics and Machine Learning, Optimization, Financial Instruments and Econometrics toolboxes.

Demonstrated expertise writing and implementing pricing algorithms and models for Derivatives; and establishing risk measures valuations within financial trading or risk modeling systems using MATLAB, Excel VBA, and object-oriented programming.

Demonstrated expertise developing and delivering presentations on quantitative modeling in portfolio optimization.
