Job Description:
Will be responsible for designing and developing sophisticated
software; designing and implementing compute and storage
infrastructure for software development; increasing performance and
improving fault tolerance in support of the building, testing, and
releasing of MathWorks products; developing, enhancing, and
maintaining OpenStack based private cloud used by an automated
build and test system customized for product development in
MathWorks; automating and maintaining the private cloud; engaging
with the multiple tenants that subscribe to the private cloud,
assessing their requirements, and enhancing the system to stay
ahead of the evolving product development needs; and supporting a
hybrid cloud environment for specific product areas. Education and Experience: Masters degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely
related field (or foreign education equivalent) and two (2) years
of experience as a Senior Systems Engineer (or related occupation)
developing, enhancing, and maintaining private clouds. OR Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely
related field (or foreign education equivalent) and no
experience. OR Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely
related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years
of experience as a Senior Systems Engineer (or related occupation)
developing, enhancing, and maintaining private clouds. Special Requirements: Demonstrated expertise designing cloud platform architecture and
virtual infrastructure, including designing and implementing an
enterprise cloud platform using OpenStack and VMware, and
performing network virtualization using OpenStack Neutron. Demonstrated expertise deploying and maintaining web services on
cloud based platforms -- Amazon Web Services, OpenStack and VMware;
performing containerization using Docker and orchestration using
Kubernetes; and applying cloud computing concepts to develop
massively scalable and parallel systems. Demonstrated expertise performing version control and
implementing DevOps principles, including performing analysis and
implementation of branching strategies using Git and SVN;
automating infrastructure using Ansible and Terraform; and applying
Infrastructure as Code best practices. Demonstrated expertise monitoring software applications using
Prometheus, Grafana and Nagios; and debugging, tracking and
