Job Description:
Will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the
execution of all automation and manual testing activities to ensure
all business processes and workflows built on the data warehouse
and master data management platform are delivered with high
standards of quality; managing a team of quality engineers to
implement a comprehensive test strategy, while considering test
automation tooling and framework; providing day-to-day mentorship
and coaching for quality engineers on how to work effectively and
efficiently with their project teams; driving test automation
strategy and tools for validating data and application
functionality; providing ongoing coaching to direct reports
including setting goals and objectives, writing performance reviews
and holding regular one-on-one meetings; identifying opportunities
for productivity gains through quality engineering process
improvements and in the Agile development lifecycle; developing
procedures and proposals and leading the implementation of these
changes; and interviewing and hiring additional staff as needed to
respond to growth of development teams. Education and Experience: Masters degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely
related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years
of experience as a Quality Engineering Manager (or related
occupation) developing and testing data warehousing systems and
data marts. OR Ph.D degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely
related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years
of experience as a Quality Engineering Manager (or related
occupation) developing and testing data warehousing systems and
data marts. OR Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely
related field (or foreign education equivalent) and seven (7) years
of experience as a Quality Engineering Manager (or related
occupation) developing and testing data warehousing systems and
data marts. Special Requirements: Demonstrated expertise developing and implementing automations
for Master Data Management and Data warehouse data pipelines using
SQL Server, Oracle, ETL tools Informatica and DBT cloud, and cloud
data warehousing technologies AWS and Snowflake. Demonstrated expertise designing, developing and executing test
plans and test cases, writing test scripts using Oracle and
Snowflake SQL, performing data profiling, and reviewing test plans
to validate complex data warehouse processes and business
intelligence applications; analyzing logical and physical data
models, including star schema design and ER models; identifying
scope for process improvement and identifying deltas for technical
debt and quality issues; and recommending and implementing best
practices to improve quality engineering workflows and increase
team productivity. Demonstrated expertise acting as technical lead on cloud
migration projects for data warehouses, master data management
projects, and business critical refactoring of legacy applications
at the architectural design level, according to Agile Scrum and
data driven software development methodologies; identifying and
managing risks and mitigation strategies for quality issues;
performing effort estimation and defining and implementing
knowledge management tools and strategies; creating, analyzing and
publishing quality metrics and measures across teams to communicate
release quality; and delivering status updates to senior
management. Demonstrated expertise designing ETL solutions using Snowflake
and DBT Cloud or Informatica MDM/IDQ; performing custom coded ETL
programming using SQL; performing capacity planning for database
storage; and performing performance optimization of ETL solutions
