Job Description:
Will be responsible for designing and developing sophisticated
software; delivering a world-class CRM (Client Relationship
Management) solution; ensuring that the overall Salesforce solution
at MathWorks optimizes investment in Salesforce, balancing business
needs with technical complexity; spanning all aspects of the
software development lifecycle and include working alongside
MathWorks business, development and user experience teams in a
highly collaborative environment where every individuals input is
valued; understanding and evaluating business requirements in the
context of MathWorks overall system solutions, including systems
outside of Salesforce (Eloqua, Oracle ERP, Custom Quoting and
Licensing, mathworks.com, etc.); performing gap analysis between
business requirements and Salesforce functionality; developing
overall solution design options and recommendations, considering
pros and cons (i.e. object structure, development of formulas,
integration points, needs for non-native functionality);
participating in design review meetings and at times leading the
evaluation of technical requirements and options; writing
comprehensive design specifications (functional specifications,
solution design document, technical design document); coordinating
and negotiating solutions in cross-functional scenarios with
multiple parties and interests; configuring, administering and
developing within Salesforce using Visualforce, Apex, API, SOQL,
and workflows; helping set technical standards and guidelines for
Salesforce; participating in code reviews and providing appropriate
feedback; and staying abreast of the current and future Salesforce
feature set relevant to MathWorks organization, in addition to
general industry IT trends, and offer suggestions for team to adopt
forward thinking features and technology. Remote Position: Position
reports to Natick, Massachusetts headquarters and can work from a
home office anywhere in the United States. Education and Experience: Masters degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely
related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of
experience as a Senior Salesforce Developer (or related occupation)
implementing and maintaining Salesforce solutions. OR Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely
related field (or foreign education equivalent) and no
experience. OR Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely
related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years
of experience as a Senior Salesforce Developer (or related
occupation) implementing and maintaining Salesforce solutions. Special Requirements: Demonstrated expertise developing RESTful web services using
APEX to integrate Salesforce platform with existing software
systems. Demonstrated expertise gathering business requirements and
designing custom Salesforce solutions in Salesforce Platforms --
Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Community Cloud, and Lightning Platform
-- including writing Apex triggers, creating and deploying
Lightning Web Components and Aura Components, and designing custom
Visualforce-based solutions. Demonstrated expertise in Salesforce.com configuration; and
writing database queries and scripts on SOQL or SOSL databases to
extract, manipulate and save data. Demonstrated expertise developing software applications along
the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements
gathering, functional design, architecture design, implementation,
