ResponsibilitiesImplement Individual Educational Improvement Plans as established.Design learning activities and physical activity programs specific to the needs of the individual students.Administer motor assessments and tests established for the program.Assess motor and fitness test results.Assess and report student performance to parents.QualificationsMassachusetts certification in Pk-8 Physical Education.Evidence of undergraduate/graduate courses in motor development, motor training, physiology of exercise and anatomy..Evidence of undergraduate/graduate courses in adaptive physical education.Demonstrated understanding of human growth and development.Evidence of courses in first aid and CPR.Evidence of courses in prevention and care of injuries.Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of instructional strategies and techniques.Evidence of courses in motor skills development.Understanding of motor and physical fitness testing and assessment.Supplemental InformationAndover Public Schools (APS) seeks candidates who embody our ethos, which includes valuing the identities of all students, high expectations for all students, teaching excellence, collaboration, innovation, respect, and responsibility.APS is committed to hiring and supporting a racially and ethnically diverse faculty and staff.
