Working under the direction of the Manager or Senior Team Lead,
will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing
sophisticated performance software; maintaining and improving the
performance of MATLAB; creating performance tooling, investigating
performance issues, and sharing expertise with the rest of the
Development organization; working on performance-critical projects,
using cutting-edge technologies, and helping keep MATLAB at the
forefront of technical computing; developing performance measuring
and monitoring solutions; developing performance analysis
processes, tools, and dashboards; monitoring and investigating
performance of the MATLAB code base; and helping coordinate
performance-related engineering efforts.
Education and Experience:
Masters degree or higher (or foreign education equivalent) in
Engineering or Computer Science and no experience.
Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in
Engineering or Computer Science and five (5) years of experience in
job offered or five (5) years of experience analyzing and improving
code performance through benchmarking.
Demonstrated expertise gathering performance requirements and
developing benchmarking code for performance analysis of
Demonstrated expertise in software performance profiling using
VTune, Instruments, MATLAB Profiler, Xperf, and Chrome Performance
Demonstrated expertise using MATLAB for programming, data
processing, and analysis; documenting code performance processes
and test results; and presenting test results to product marketing
and development stakeholders.
Demonstrated expertise analyzing and debugging a large legacy
code base (100K+ lines of code) in MATLAB and C++; and applying
performance analysis results to design and develop MATLAB toolboxes
for performance and scalability.
