What you will be doing:

The Biomedical Engineer will be responsible for acting as a point source for evaluation and validation of proposed medical devices along with development of such devices, including as needed development and evaluation/validation of algorithms, hardware, software, and theories of operation. A major component of this role will also be to fulfill Project Engineer responsibilities on a per-project basis, including the creation and maintenance of DHF documentation and oversight of technical resolution activities.

  • Maintain and create DHF files.
  • Work with Engineering and Marketing teams on new product development and sustaining engineering particularly but not exclusively as it relates to the biomedical interaction between device and consumer.
  • Work with Regulatory to develop and support new clinical studies.
  • Engineering work as it relates to the interaction of the products to the human body.
  • Development, support, or perform usability studies to test new insights and concepts.
  • Support 510K and CE registration filings with Regulatory.
  • Lab testing and analysis.
  • Work with outside testing houses for compliance testing (biocompatibility, safety, performance, FDA, etc.).
  • Perform component and system failure analysis with quality.
  • Investigation/understanding of leverage/competitive designs.
  • Development and testing of a subsystem or functions.
  • Plan experimental design adaptability/optimization and manage testing/qualification.
  • Interface and work with other members of the multi-functional team, including Electrical and Software Engineers, Marketing, Sales, and Operations. Skills needed to be successful in this role:
    • Strong oral and written communication skills including with partners across time and cultural zones
    • Good partnership and organizational skills with experience teaming/directing others Minimum Qualifications:
      • Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering
      • 1+ years related experience
      • Medical device development - FDA, DHF, and all compliance related activities
      • Clinical/lab knowledge/experience
      • Strong engineering/design skills with strong mechanical/electrical proficiency and understanding of how electromechanical systems work
      • Proven track record of creative skills and innovation experience
      • Strong computer skills and knowledge with various engineering software
      • Understanding of Quality Control and regulatory systems
      • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
